ACT NOW: Please contact Rep. Bernie Lieder's office at (651) 296-5091 or at rep.bernie.lieder@house.mn and tell him ATVers do not support HF3148. This bill is set to be heard TOMORROW, March 2nd at 4:30 PM in room 10 of the State Office Building. HF3148 raids the OHV and snowmobile accounts to conduct a study on our unrefunded gas tax. In 2006 a $75,000 study was completed and concluded that the ATV unrefunded gas tax needed to be increased due to a much higher usage of off-road ATV's. The last study had been completed in 1984, when there were only 19,000 registered ATV's. The anti-access groups did not like the outcome of the 2006 study that was completed by the DNR, MNDOT and the Dept. of Revenue so they want the University of MN to conduct the same study because they think the outcome will favor their cause of removing us from state forests. Don't let this happen!
